Web Design For Beginners - Making Your First Homepage Does Not Have to Be Scary

When you're starting an online business, one of the scariest things can be designing your webpage. Most new online entrepreneurs do not have the extra income to pay someone else to design their website, but many of them also do not have the expertise to do it on their own.

The good news is that there are lots of programs that you can sign up for that will help you design your website and will host it for a flat monthly rate. Hosting and maintenance of your website is important because it ensures that your customers always get to your website when they type your web address into their browser. If you do not have your site hosted professionally then your visitors might get an error message when they try to visit your site. What can be worse than a visitor getting an error message, and then finding someone else's site to visit instead?

There are a few key things to remember when setting up your homepage. It is very important that visitors feel comfortable with your homepage. In the world of online business, your homepage is often your visitor's first impression of you or your company. You want to make sure it's a good one.

It is also very important to use your keyword phrase multiple times on our homepage. You want to make sure that you use it at least 5 times per 100 words of text. That way search engines have an easier time linking prospective customers to your sites when they perform a search. If you don't know much about keyword phrases you might want to do a little research on them. Finding the right keyword phrase to use is important.

Your homepage also needs to show your visitors who you are, why your products is a product they should buy, and what exactly you are offering. They need to get a sense of you, your company, and what you stand for.

It is also good to include some graphics on your homepage. You want at least 2 graphics, one that will display the type of products you are going to sell and another that evoke an appropriate emotional response from your visitors.

It is also a good idea to make sure your business logo is displayed somewhere on the page and your phone number so that visitors know who you are and how to reach you.

So, remember, when you are beginning to design your homepage, do not stress out. Take your time, make a list of what information you need to include and then make a to do list of steps to take. As you cross each item off the list you will begin to feel more confident and before you know it your page will be up and running.
